Building a Professional Image
From New Teacher Handbook
As a new teacher in the school, you have no reputation or name recognition. People will judge you on how they perceive you. The impression you set early in your career will stay with you for a long time. You do not get a second chance to make a first impression. Remember, this is a profession, not just a job. No one ever says they have a job as a teacher, they say, "I am a teacher." Remember, you are a teacher.

Dress Professionally
Harry Wong in his book "The First Days of School," says "In an ideal world... it would be wonderful to be accepted for ourselves alone, not for our appearance."
