Graffiti Boards

Graffiti Boards are an opportunity to collect preassessment or postassessment data in an active and collaborative way.

Materials needed
chart paper, markers

Procedures
Post 5-10 vocabulary words, terms or concepts on the chart paper around the room. Divide students into groups(one group per page). Give students 3-5 minutes at each page to brainstorm what they know about the topic, word, etc. Then rotate the groups around the room to each page. Have the students start by reading other's contributions and then add their own. An alternate method is to keep students at a desk or table and rotate the paper, not the people.
