CD: Introduction to The GLEs & NECAP

This .zip Archive contains a PowerPoint Presentation to assist New Hampshire principals introduce the Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) and the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) to the teachers in their schools, and a variety of handouts in PDF format. The accompanying Talking Notes include more information than is on the slides themselves, and should serve as a guide for the presenter.

Each participant at a presentation should be given a printed copy of each of the ten handouts labeled A through J  and a copy of the Math, Reading & Writing Grade-Level Handouts for the specific grade(s) taught. (Please note: there are no NECAP GLEs for Writing in Grade 2.)

The Grade-Level Handouts are extracted verbatim from the full NECAP GLEs and presented in a user-friendly format. Participants may already have their own copies of the full NECAP GLEs, and should be encouraged to bring them to a presentation, to be able to see the relationships between GLEs at different grade-levels.

Printable PDFs of the full NECAP GLEs are available at the NH Department of Education website (http://www.ed.state.nh.us/education/) and at the New England Compact website (http://www.necompact.org).  Presenters are encouraged to visit these websites for the most current information about the GLEs and NECAP.

A CD with these files has been produced by the GMPDC to distribute to principals across the state of New Hampshire.
