What is RSS?

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a web format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites that change a lot, including major news sites like CNN, but can also be used to keep people updated on recent changes to any website or blog. An RSS-aware program automatically checks the feed for changes and updates the information for the user.

The address for an RSS feed usually starts with "feed://" instead of the more familiar "http://" but not always.

The GMPDC RSS feed contains a variety of timely announcements and reminders about professional development that we hope will be helpful for educators in the Manchester School District and across south-central New Hampshire:

Some web browsers are not compatible with RSS, so you may only see XML code in your browser if you click on the link above. These are some RSS readers you may want to consider using to take full advantage of RSS:

  • Amphetadesk — Windows, Mac, Linux (open source); freeware
