1. In the Internet tab, click on the Network icon and make a Connection Configuration for each place where you connect to a network.

NOTE: You can also connect to WiFi using the Wireless Networks icon, but this works best only after you have set up a configuration for the connection.

2. Click Create to set up a new connection configuration. (See illustration below.)

3. The connection wizard will step you through the process. Select Local Area Network - Wireless if you are connecting wirelessly.

4. The WiFi card is the hardware you will select next -- The Atheros Communications, Inc at ath0 is the built-in WiFi card that you want.

5. Select Dynamic IP address (DHCP) for the Address Type.

6. You can click on Browse Wireless Networks to select a visible wireless network, but if the WiFi hub is invisible (some networks do it this way), you will need to know the name of the network and insert it manually here. (The Mode and Transfer Ratescan be left at Auto.)

7. If a password is required to connect to the network, you must then check Enable Encryption.

8. It’s a good idea to provide a descriptive name of the connection. If you are primarily using the EEE in one location, you can check this as the default connection on start-up.
